Located within the established Oldbury Green Retail Park, this project involved the new construction of a standalone Starbucks Drive-Thru unit. The development required transforming a section of the existing car park into a modern QSR facility, designed to integrate seamlessly with the retail park while offering dedicated, high-volume service to motorists and customers.
AKN Build acted as Principal Contractor, managing the full civil engineering works and the construction of the new building shell and external infrastructure. Works included site clearance, groundwork, concrete slab formation, utility provision, and the creation of a dedicated drive-thru circuit, essential elements for a contemporary coffee shop operation.
Key works
- Site clearance and extensive ground formation within an active retail car park environment
- Construction of foundations, floor slab, and the building envelope for the new unit
- Creation of a new, fully compliant drive-thru lane, including kerbing and traffic flow management
- Installation of all underground utilities and drainage networks, including specialist services for the QSR
- Resurfacing, kerbing, and road marking for the customer car park and drive-thru circuit
- Construction of a new pedestrian crossing to safely link the new unit with the main retail area
- Installation of the base and fixings for the internal fit-out and external signage (including totem pole)
